Identify the Map Route
Brandrgarde and Hallowgrove use different extraction mechanics, so confirm the route for the map and mode you entered.
Extraction is the core process for bringing your current spoils safely back toward camp. The method depends on the map and mode: Brandrgarde and Hallowgrove use different Woodling, Soul, Chime, and Soul Tree routes.
Follow the extraction route documented for the current map and mode. Do not assume that one Woodling or Soul sequence works everywhere.
Brandrgarde and Hallowgrove use different extraction mechanics, so confirm the route for the map and mode you entered.
Follow the relevant Woodling, Soul, Chime, or Soul Tree sequence instead of looking for one universal exit.
Use the route's Soul of Return mechanic to summon an Extraction Point in the supported location.
Complete the interaction with the Extraction Point to leave the exploration and retain the items carried through a normal extraction.
Brandrgarde normally provides a carried Soul of Return after a Returner Woodling is defeated. The documented Hallowgrove route instead begins with a Returning Chime and ends at the Soul Tree created by its Hallowgrove Woodling.
These names describe related but distinct parts of the escape process. Their behavior should not be merged into one universal route.
A Brandrgarde extraction monster. Defeat it and loot the Soul of Return it provides.
A separate Hallowgrove Woodling summoned through a Returning Chime. When defeated, it transforms into a Soul Tree.
The extraction resource consumed to summon an Extraction Point. How you reach it differs between map routes.
A Hallowgrove mechanism that summons a Hallowgrove Woodling after it becomes available and is activated.
A source of Souls of Return that supports nearby Extraction Points. Its origin and availability differ by route.
The summoned point a player interacts with to complete extraction.
A documented alternative escape that retains equipped items and a limited selection rather than every carried item.
Brandrgarde's documented Returner Woodling route gives the player a carried Soul of Return that can later be consumed to summon an exit.
Returner Woodlings appear at intervals in areas outside the Gyldenmist.
Use its current audio, visual, highlight, and nearby map signals to track it.
Kill the Returner Woodling to make its extraction item available.
Loot the Soul of Return provided by the defeated Woodling.
Keep the Soul until you are ready to leave the exploration.
Use the Soul of Return to summon an Extraction Point.
Interact with the summoned point to complete extraction.
Current in-game guidance also documents randomly appearing Brandrgarde Soul Trees. An Extraction Point can be summoned nearby; when the supporting tree withers, that route closes and existing points disappear.
The current Trio final-circle description gives its last Returner Woodling three Souls of Return. This does not mean every Woodling always drops three Souls.
The documented Soul Tree route begins with a Returning Chime and a separate Hallowgrove Woodling. Its timings are intentionally left without invented fixed values.
The Chime activates after an unspecified period; no stable exact timer is documented here.
Interact with the available Returning Chime.
A Hallowgrove Woodling appears at a random location after an unspecified period.
Use the available audio and visual signals to find and defeat it before it leaves.
The defeated Hallowgrove Woodling transforms into a Soul Tree.
Near the tree, use its Soul of Return mechanism to summon an Extraction Point.
Interact with the nearby Extraction Point to complete extraction.
Current game guidance says Soul Tree extraction is unavailable at Chaos Gyldening Intensity. The complete primary Chaos Hallowgrove escape sequence is not fully established by the current documentation, so the standard Soul Tree route should not be assumed to work there.
Smuggler Woodlings provide a limited escape that keeps equipped items and a restricted selection of carried items. Current documentation does not establish this as one universal replacement route for every Chaos match.
A Soul of Return powers the final transition from the map-specific route to a summoned Extraction Point.
An Extraction Point is the summoned exit a player interacts with to complete the escape.
The relevant Soul mechanism summons the point. In Soul Tree routes, the point is created near the tree. Interacting with it completes extraction.
Exact location restrictions, platform buttons, countdowns, enemy access, point ownership, squad-wide behavior, and reuse are not presented as fixed rules here.
Mistfall Hunter supports Solo play overall and squads of up to three, but map and mode availability still matters.
As of August 15, 2026, the official August 5 roadmap placed dedicated Brandrgarde Solo modes in a planned September update. Entering a Trio queue without fill should not be described as a dedicated Solo mode.
Current Brandrgarde guidance warns against escaping alone before teammates have collected enough Souls of Return. That confirms separate departures can occur there, but it does not establish one universal portal or Soul rule for every squad and mode.
Revival and extraction are separate systems. The outcome depends on how the player was defeated and whether the current mode includes a downed state.
Current tutorial guidance supports entering soul form after a monster kill, returning to the death site, and interacting with the corpse to revive.
The current tutorial says the same corpse-revival route is unavailable when a rival Gyldhunter kills the player.
Some team modes include a downed state in which a teammate can rescue the player before true death. This state is not documented as universal.
Current game guidance identifies eligible Pip's Pouch and Keychain contents as exceptions to the normal carried-item death risk.
A successful normal extraction retains the items carried through that escape and returns the player toward camp with secured spoils.
Current documentation does not establish that extracted items automatically enter the Warehouse or a specific Inventory container. Use the separate Warehouse guide for confirmed camp-storage behavior.
Use current map, minimap, audio, and visual information without relying on an invented fixed icon, color, location, or platform key.
Current official updates confirm that the Returning Chime has an unlock-state indication on the minimap.
Its appearance and engagement produce signals that help players locate the summoned Woodling.
When one is near a player, current guidance describes chimes, a highlight outline, and map revelation.
The minimap displays Gyldenmist progress. The guide does not assign a universal fixed spread timer.

Direct answers about Woodlings, Souls, Chimes, Soul Trees, Extraction Points, party boundaries, and retained loot.
Extraction is the process of leaving an exploration and returning toward camp with the spoils retained through a successful escape. Until extraction succeeds, carried loot remains exposed to match risk.
Use the extraction route for your current map and mode, complete its Woodling, Soul, Chime, or Soul Tree sequence, summon an Extraction Point, and interact with it. Brandrgarde and Hallowgrove do not use one identical route.
In Brandrgarde, a Returner Woodling is an extraction monster that provides a Soul of Return when defeated and looted. Hallowgrove's Chime route uses a Hallowgrove Woodling with a different Soul Tree sequence.
A Soul of Return is the resource consumed to summon an Extraction Point. Brandrgarde lets a Gyldhunter carry a Soul obtained from a Returner Woodling; the Hallowgrove Soul Tree route handles Souls through the tree.
Defeat a Returner Woodling, obtain and carry its Soul of Return, consume the Soul to summon an Extraction Point, then interact with the point to escape. Brandrgarde also has a separate random Soul Tree route.
The documented Soul Tree route starts with an active Returning Chime. Activate it, locate and defeat the summoned Hallowgrove Woodling, use the Soul Tree it becomes to summon a nearby Extraction Point, then interact to escape. This standard route must not be assumed to work at Chaos intensity.
A Returning Chime is a Hallowgrove extraction mechanism. After it becomes available, interacting with it summons a Hallowgrove Woodling at a random location. A cooldown exists, but this guide does not claim an exact duration.
In the documented Hallowgrove route, the defeated Woodling transforms into a Soul Tree that supports nearby Extraction Points. Brandrgarde can also contain randomly appearing Soul Trees. Current game guidance says Soul Tree extraction is unavailable at Chaos Gyldening Intensity.
An Extraction Point is the summoned exit a player interacts with to complete extraction. Its exact ownership, countdown, reuse, enemy access, and squad-wide behavior are not presented here as universal rules.
Mistfall Hunter supports Solo play overall, but that does not mean every map and mode has a dedicated Solo queue. As of August 15, 2026, the official roadmap placed dedicated Brandrgarde Solo modes in a planned September update rather than the current live selection.
Current Brandrgarde guidance warns against escaping alone while teammates still lack enough Souls of Return, so separate departures can occur there. The exact portal and Soul rules for every squad, map, and mode are not fully documented and are not generalized here.
A successful normal extraction retains the items carried through that escape and returns the player toward camp. Current documentation does not establish that those items are automatically deposited into the Warehouse or a specific Inventory container.
